Brussels DJ - House & beyond
Uplifting energy, hypnotic grooves.
Formerly Electronico N.0873.
Biography
DJ & electronic music artist · Brussels, Belgium
OC8 is the alias of Brussels-born DJ and electronic music artist Nicolas Elbo, formerly known as Electronico. House is at the heart of his sound, with sets driven by uplifting energy, hypnotic grooves and a curiosity that extends beyond genre boundaries.
With a dance teacher for a mother, Nicolas was quite literally rocked to music in the womb. During his teenage years, the clubs and festivals of Brussels, Ghent, Antwerp, Leuven and Liège fuelled his appetite for electronic music. His listening stretched from house and techno to electronica, drum & bass, nu-jazz, trip-hop and psytrance. Nights spent discovering tracks and compiling eclectic playlists eventually led to his first DJ sets at private parties.
In 2014, Nicolas met his partner, Bulgarian violinist and singer Petia Staneva. Accompanying her to performances brought him closer to the world of live music, and he went on to DJ professionally at weddings, private celebrations and corporate events.
His first two self-produced EPs, Electronic Loops and Geometric Loops, were released in 2018 under the name Electronico. After entering remix competitions in 2019, he collaborated with French lyricist Jérôme Attal on Librairie Blues in 2020, setting one of Attal’s poems to music. His third EP, Fruit Loops, followed in 2024.
His enthusiasm for sharing music extends beyond the decks. In 2024 and 2025, he organised two Mixology events, pairing DJ sets with cocktails. He also co-founded Dancefloor Directive, a collective formed with fellow DJs working at the European Commission.
As OC8, Nicolas moves between deep and tech house, Afro and Latin influences, with occasional detours into hardgroove, drum & bass and psytrance. Through his mixes, he aims to bring listeners together around a shared love of discovery and the dancefloor. His ambition is to connect sound and visuals in an experience for the eyes as well as the ears.
